P’tite Lilie, La

(Cavalcanti, 1927) Music by Darius Milhaud.

Based on a song of the same title about a young, orphaned factory girl, who meets a man at a dance who convinces her to quit her job and become a prostitute and is murdered by him after she tries to stop.
